stereo surround mod (pic)

hey guys, I tried this because it sounded like a good idea at the time. I think it turned out good. Still need some final touches like cutting holes for heater ***** and clock, and my gauges. Let me know what you think.

If it was made out of another material maybe brushed aluminum it would look nice, but that looks way out of place. That just me though and others might like it.

Ya a little too much of the Pick Up Truck tool box look for my taste.

Even some satin coat galvinized would look better then polished tread plate

IMHO

It would look great if you car was gutted. As is it clashes with the interior pretty badly.

Once you add the guages and switches and gut the interior it'll look fine. I would like just the shifter area I think.. Its always nice to see people trying things out,.

It looks like you did a great job of putting it in there, but the material is off. For some reason I just have the urge to stand on your dash. possilbly brushed aluminum but that will still be really bright. Smoked plexi glass might look really good, since you already have a pattern. You can put some gauges behind it that only show, when they are lit up. Just a thought.

yea i have to agree it does stand out. It still looks 10x better than just an opening in the dash needed a quick fix so went to hardware store and picked it up. Will i keep if for awhile? Your damn right, you don't know how much filing had to be done!! Maybe with the gauges and radio and stuff it won't stick out as much.

Plexi glass, can you form that to bend like the aluminum did? I also like that idea, easier to file too. Thanks for the input everyone.

Doesn't seem to go with the dash and all. Just my opinion. By the way, there is a new factory center on Ebay. I don't know how to post links yet.

I agree with others, I'm not digging the diamond plate. Maybe a brushed aluminum or satin finish.......
