steering wheel stuff
Ok, this is to everyone who has an aftermarket steering wheel. I'm trying to get ideas about what to get, who has what and do you like it? pics would be good. Also, is it possible to get some kind of a spacer to bring the wheel closer to me by say 1.5-2 inches? I need more room to move my knee in order to heel-toe the "right" way, the "big toe on brake, little toe on gas" feels too uncertain, so little of the foot is on both pedals that slipping off one is quite possible. To measure the wheels diameter I assume its just from one outside edge to the other right? making the stock wheel around 15", so a 12.5-13" one would probably be best. Whats everyones opinion? I hope what I just said makes sense
I have a LeCarra steering wheel that I had on my Ford Courier. The adapter hub moves the wheel closer to the driver like you want. The wheel should fit RX7 as a stock RX7 wheel fits pefectly on the Courier. I think most of those adapter hubs move the wheel closer.
Grant makes a lot of steering wheels. Pep Boys and Summit Racing . com carries them. Like WG, the adaptor hub moves the wheel closer to driver.
Grant also sells a kit to remove the steering wheel and lock a steel cap onto the steering column when not being driven. Fantastic anti-theft device. I loved it.
No wheel, no steal!
