Steering wheel spacer/quick removal

I have come to love my stock steering wheel. As odd as it sounds, it just really fits the car.

But as Peejay says "They're built like Italian cars!" the steering wheel is just too far away. So I'd like to find a quick release spacer to use with my stock steering wheel.

Anyone have any reccomendations?

I have my steering cover off so I can get at the wiring and install a push button start, and after staring at it for half an hour I figured this would be a good idea. And yeah, I don't really have much of a life, hahahaah.

Can't help with the adapter, but I agree, even with my long arms, the steering wheel seems to be a couple inches to far away.

Yeah, I do hit my legs getting in and out, but just has that certain specialness to it.

I guess whenever I have the "spare money" I'll get a Nardi.

So ... is there a quick release hub available that does not have to be welded on?? If so I want one, that is the best theft deterrent that I can think of.

Cool

Here's my quick release with spacers. To keep the stock steering wheel will mean some fab'ing of a adapter to fit the Sparco/Momo quick release adapter, the spacers($29 per 3/4in spacer)
Notice the 6 allen head bolts in the picture, this plate and the hex adapter I had to weld together to make my setup work, the stock wheel may need more adaptation for it to work. I used a stock car style quick release instead to the Sport Compact style used by most tuners. Steering wheel and quick release was $135 shipped.
