Easy!

I am not Kidding about this..

Take off the main Nut, then..

Hit it really fast repeatedly in alternating positions,

9 O'clock / 3 O'clock, then

12 O'clock / 6 O'clock, then

11 O'clock / 5 O'clock, and so on, an so on..

It will take you less than 30 seconds to loosen it,
and it will pop right off without any resistance..

Worked for all my Sevens in the past..

Let us know if this worked for you..

as above......

i worked in the suspension trade for a few years and thats how we did them.......

one thing leave the big nut on a few turns so you dont end up with the wheel cominh off in your face

I do not recomend a puller. I bent a wheel once.

I do not recomend hitting any first gen wheel anywhere. You can easily damage the old brittle colapsable column plastic retaining dohickys. I have also done this .

The way that works best is to loosen the nut till all but two or three threads. grasp the wheel at 3 and 9 and push/pull alternately till loose.
Sometimes aditional torqueing is required at 12 and 6.

It will come off this way and nothing is damaged.

Good luck.

when hiting the wheel take care... it doesnt need to be a mike tyson hit.

i did this every day for 4 years as part of my job,in many differnt makes of cars including my own rx7's and i have never damaged anything... but do care !!!

the push/pull method hardly ever worked in my experiance especialy if the wheel had been on for a long time or the nut has been over tightened.

in theory the pushing is more likey to colapse the coloumn than the tapping method, as when you push you are pushing one more area of the wheel at once, with the force of two hands....
