Is there a sterring gear box that is smaller than stock for a 1980 Base 12A. I want to get some more clearence on the side of the box but because of it's roundness I can't get what I want. Is there an aftermarket or later year that would be smaller and work?

Also, would a rack and pinon system work to eliminate that or would it still be there?
