Startup after Full RB exhaust/rats nest removal

Just finished installing the RB header, presilencer, and removing the rats nest. Also upgraded to a 100amp alternator. I started it up, and it sounds like ****. It started raining like crazy outside right after I took the video so I did not have time to look around, but I have both block off plates on with gasket sealant, and I believe everything is capped. It is excessively loud on the intake side. Any ideas to make my troubleshooting quicker?

Did you cap that hose at the backside of the intake manifold right by the firewall? I think it's the anti-afterburn hose.

I'm in the midst of basically the same thing/problem. I am finding it nearly impossible to get the manifold to spacer to carb connection vacuum leak free. I bet if you douse the spacer with carb spray on the passenger side it will even out a bit.

I think Puerto Rican chicken blood is the only thing that will withstand the gas and properly seal the spacer.

I will check.... most likely since I don't remember capping that. Other than that I had a stud break off of the RB presilencer which I am not too pleased about. Not sure if I should get one welded in there if possible or just get a threaded one in there.

Well there's your problem, why'd you remove the full RB exhaust?!

Kidding... I don't have any input just felt the need to make that joke.

Quality control issues much?

My presilencer came with one of the nuts crossthreaded badly.

And I wonder if they ever started putting their decals on their swaybars so that they aren't upside down. So many people installed the bar upside down due to this. lol.

This is what it sounds like, sorry for the lack of light in the video. It was in my garage.

Yeah you either somehow got a full Bridgeport motor in that exhaust package you bought or youve got some SERIOUS leaks

Haha I know, I mentioned a couple posts ago that one of the studs on the presilencer broke off. I have to replace it.

Sounds like your idle is set quite low, and you could have a vacuum leak. If you put on block-off plates on your intake mani and used any sort of RTV, I'm going to suggest removing the block-off plates and cutting a new gasket from some 1/8" cork (can be found at auto parts stores and Hardware stores). The RTVs that I used on my intake mani block off plates all were gone pretty quickly because of either fuel or heat from my RB SP header. Also, make sure all of your vacuum ports are sealed.

Thanks, I did use the liquid gasket crap... I'm almost positive everything is capped, but like I said it leaks right after the presilencer because only the driver side bolt is on.
