Anyway last night I replaced the Top link on the rear end and over the next few weeks I am going to paint it.

 

The pile of stuff in the floor is the side adheasive and scrapped off clear coat.

Man that driveshaft housing looks like it could break soon

It is the local community college.

It was good and solid, Just the bracket had rusted and twisted off.

 

Good to see that the local Community College is providing courses and facilities, and that guys are learning. Do they teach the principles of the emissions systems and how to test and tune? Servomechanisms and feedback theory?

 

sweet im also considering takin class's at the local college looks like fun ull probley educate the teacher about tueing a rotary lol

 

I wish.

They currently dont even have a frame machine. They have a paint booth but it is long in the tooth. I started the class to learn colission repair but they are more about resto. We can bring in almost anything to work on as long as it needs autobody work, they frown on any mechanic work.

So far we have learned dint and ding repair, quick how to on paint, Most of the people already know how to weld but we do get practice ( I filled in the holes for crome on a guys 88 chevy).

Starting scuffing it up last night and took off stuff that would be in the way.

 

what are u using to do that?? sandpapper on a grinder or somthin

 

^^ that was 80 on a DA Palm sander, We will rough up the whole car like that then do it again with 180 and then prime

 

Last week was a bust for work, I was sick and my wife was sick and some family Died.

but last night I got real close to selling the car and done some more sanding.

The guy may by it tonight.

 

I found a good bit of bondo on the passenger door




So I sanded it out




And then pulled it out some with the stud gun






the dent is now much higher and will get a thin coat of filler.

 

Filled and sanded, then covered with a little primer to protect it until the car gets primer.

 

I'm confused. Are you fixing this car up as your own or are you still trying to sell it?

been wondering the same thing, i mean iuf your going to put all this time in it you might as well keep it !

It is still for sale for the $1200 Price that I put on it.

I needed a project for shop class so what better to use then one that needed some body work and paint.

Once I paint it I will up the price a bit to cover it and it will still be a Steal. Right now no one wants it cause of the paint.

 

the way i see it is the paint counts but not as mush as how it performs

 

How do you like those stud pullers? I've thought about picking up a cheap one for some of the body work I do occasionaly, but have never used one or even seen one up close. Still drilling and using the old slide hammer, lol.

 

That is my feeling also But to most people, paint is high expence so it factors high in buying/selling




Buy one, and Buy it now. You will wonder how you ever lived without it. The secreat to it is only weld it real light that will let the stud be pulled off easy and clean.
