starting problems

I have 85 GSL-SE and last week my car wouldn't start so I jumped it and it started and then I killed it and me and a friend push started it I took in the battery to get it test after I charged it for about 2 hours and the guy at autozone told me to clean the cables and that fixed the problem but today I left the lights on for about 40 mins and I went to start it and it wouldn't start but It will jump start. I have to jump start it every time I want it to start does anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

Either the battery or alternator, I personally would get the battery load tested and check how many amps the alternator is putting out (a shop or dealership has the equiptment to do this). I perfer the find out exactly what is wrong before resorting to the "replacing everything till its fixed method..."
