Starting my RX after sitting...missing anything?

I have been reading all your advice on the boards...thanks for being here. No one was around when i first got this RX in 79. It sure makes a diffference to be able to chat .

I long sad tail I wont go into, but the good news is Im getting my car started after a couple years of sitting.

Before sitting this 79 had a new Engine carb trans suspension brakes etc...car was ready to go....maybe 5 miles on it.

Battery is strong.

I have drained gas tank and lines and filled.

Fuel pump, pumps fine and gas in float bowl.

Drained oil and have new oil filter and 20 50 GTX for southern summers.

Changed to new NGK plugs and has new wires.

Engine has great compression( seems to me seals seem fine and sounds like it should).( followed FAQ for testing)

A little starter fluid in carb she starts but doesnt stay running after fluid is burned out.

When running it sounds great actually, but dies out soon. No gas getting into carb.

NEXT im starting a carb rebuild. Carb looks perfect, but again no gas getting into it.

Then brakes and suspension will be next to check out.

AM i forgetting anything? thanks

KC( Karen)

few sqirts starter fluid in carb, car starts fine, sounds smooth, then stops when it has blown the starter fluid out.
