Arrow Starter Problems!!!

So i get out of work and step into my 1980 rx7 and it wouldnt start. Making all this dam noise and TONS of smoke from my exhaust. THEN my battery started smokinnnn! so i turn the bitch off and pop the hood and the wire connected to my + .. started turning red getting extremely HOT. So i get a little pissed and get some kid in the parking lot to give my *** a ride home. SO anyone have any ideas??? what do i do because right now its just chillin in the parking lot and im not getting it home anytime sooon! help me out

Sounds like a cut in your positive battery cable... I really hope you didn't leave it like that and that you did pull the negative cable off or something...

I dunno why smoke would come from the exhaust. It should've come from the cable that was burning.

hopefully it didn't catch after you left. that would suck. did the starter sound like it was turning slowly? i've had that problem befor. starter sucking too many volts and cranking slow. drains the bat. and heats up the wires cause it's trying too hard.

thats exactly what it sounds like.. what should i do... get a new battery (even though i did just a month ago) or get new cables??? because its always sounded like it was starting slowly and usually never started on the first try... until today hwne it didnt start at all .. it sounded like it was right about to start but it never really got there!

new starter. at least get it checked. the last one that did that to me i had it checked and it kept blowing there fuse cause it was drawing so much.

Before you do anything else, check your ground wires. I had this issue with another car before, and the description fits perfectly. Without adequate grounding, the positive wire will get cherry red. Hope this helps....

It wouldn't hurt to replace those battery cables either. Both of them.
