I just relocated my battery to the cubby behind the driver seat. I tried starting the car and the starter stays engaged when i try and crank it and it makes a whinning noise right when i turn the key back off. help please

are you sure its ur starter and not ur ignition getting stuck on. i had that problem and i just wired a button.
and why did u put ur battery behind the driver seat wouldnt it be better behind the passenger seat to even out the weight.

I take it that when it makes the whining noise the engine is no longer turning over with the starter or has the engine started? I've never heard of this happening except then the ignition switch goes bad and sticks in the start mode.
Before you check the switch, go back over your wiring. You didn't get the battery cables reversed did you? Did you connect the cables in the same manner as stock? Pos cable directly to the starter with a tail wire to the fusible links, Neg cable to the body then to the top starter bolt on the engine?
