Starter help

Will all First gen manual RX7 starters interchange with each other through the year? Example: will a 80 starter fit a 85? Thanks for the help.

My understanding is the starter is the same from 79-81 or 82 only. You can check part numbers against each other by downloading the factory parts manuals as Adobe PDF files on the mazdaformance.com site under RX7/parts diagrams. Its free and so is the viewing software.

I thought there is a difference in the number of Teeth on the Starter Gear and the Flywheel in some of the later FB's?
Something like 8 Versus 10 Teeth on the Starter Gear.
I could be wrong, but that's why we are all here.
