Stalling in deceleration
Stalling in deceleration
My son and I have just acquired an 84 GSL (12a). It is stalling in deceleration and I realize it must be a problem with the anti-afterburn solenoid valve or the coasting valve. Any tips on resolving this problem?

Replace the AAV/ACV assembly. Mazdatrix sells them, but they are PRICEY.

Also, welcome to the Darkside. Check the FSM for your car, it'll help.

Thanks, I did try a search but didn't come out with anything as useful as your reply. I have a Haynes repair manual, replacement is never suggested but it is implied. I'll follow-up on your suggestions.
Yeah, you're not the only one who's encountering that problem.
I'm getting a bit of a shudder during deceleration. I replaced the gasket around my AAV/ACV assembly, but that's because I previously took it off and the original gasket torn.
