Ok I just bought a 1985 RX-7 GSL-SE. I have had it for about three weeks and yesterday driving home it stalled out on me. As I let off the gas it just died, not jerking or anything just went to zero rpms. After getting it started again, it didn't want to idle and i had to pump the gas to get it to start. Here's the wierd thing as I drove it the problem cleared itself. About a block and a half the motor smoothed back out and it has started and ran fine since. I talked with my dad and he things it could be some dirt in the fuel line that blocked the fuel line and then pushed itself free. What do you guys think are we on the right track? Thanks

 

Check the fuel filter, its an easy place to start

 

Yeah keep it simple,

Just tune it up, new filter, plugs, wires, oil, etc etc

 

run a few bottles of lucas injector cleaner thru it after you change the fuel filter.
