\/ Eibach on Tokico HP's aka Blues. Just so you know Tokico's SUCK. They're awesome, but they only last a year. That goes for HP's and Illuminas.

I dislike the look of lowered cars and the stock rear springs on my 83 are sagging noticeably so I'd like to get a set of fresh rear springs. Anybody got some cheap? they gotta be pretty fresh.

If you don't like lowered cars, get a pick up truck. An RX-7 may not be for you!

If they lower your car, the difference is negligable at best. My Se actually sat higher than stock for a week or so..................

A bit off topic, but what rims are those in the first pic? Are they 4x110?

Sorry to hijack, but I would actually like a softer ride. Like Vipernicus, they don't pave too good around here (I'm near him) but I live out in the country, so the roads are even worse.

Right now I have the original springs and shocks (55,000 miles). Anybody got any recomendations as to what might be a little softer?

Must be getting old! lol

intrax works for me, not the best for handling since they arent a progressive spring but they keep the stock feel for comfy daily driving and also lower it i think 2.2" in rear and 1.5" upfront.

Bend over, then call the dealer and see if the stock ones are still availible, then add a set of Tokico HPs.

I have tokico blues and rb springs, I really like the ride hight and firmness in the front but the rear didn't drop enough imo I have like 2-3inch of wheel gap in the rear actually it doesn't even seem dropped from before with the stock suspension on like the rb site said it would drop 3/4inch, plus the rear seems to be a little soft for my driveing style, the rear seems to want to wander around mid corner and doesn't like abrupt changes in the steering angle at speeds, the rear kinda sways to the side where as the front stays planted -but then again maybe its 178,xxx miles doing all the wondering

if i was it to do over I would go with the 5 way illuminas in the rear and the blues in the front with the rb springs all around

that's because he's also running RB's front strut extensions. it provides extra shock travel and compression. in retrospect, w/ that kind of coilover front setup w/ front strut extensions, the front-end of the car's pseudo-lowered.

The only thing shady about those cheapie sets on eBay are the springs, they are crap, inconsistant and poorly constructed, so go buy some Eibachs and put them in the kit...good to go, not good for racing though.

I have the RBs Fr/Rr, with Illumina in the front and Hps in the rear. the rear it too stiff and sits too high.

ISC racing has the rear spring perches, Im thinking about that. about 200 total for the spring + perches. the problem with ours cars is the front limited travel. the strut extrension kits looks tempting. I dont think SCCA rules would like that. . .

Yeah I agree with the sitting too high but I have the same rear set up and I think its to soft, maybe its something else in my set up thats resulting in a soft rear, I have a rear adj. sway bar too. Maybe its my watts linkage bushings>? idk

Is there a way to get the rear lower with the rb springs that doesn't envolve cutting them?

The reason the rears sit "high" is to try to prevent making the geometry problems worse.

The reason the rears are actually softer than stock in many cases is to deal with the geometry issues when things get low in the rear.

Low in a 1st-gen is entirely for show and horrible for handling, unless you radically re-engineer the suspension.

Hmm I was told on this forum that the car performs(handles not ride quality) best when the rear sits lower then the front?

Which is it? rear higher or lower...anyone
