Springs: Name Brand differences?
Okay, I have found information on the quality of Ebach, Racing Beat, and Suspension techniques springs but I don't know anything about Tokico springs.
I know any of these would be good but some are better for street and some are better for racing/auto-x/whatever.
RX7.com has a really good price on thier Advanced street suspension kit. They sell Tokico adjustables with Tokico springs all around for about $680. That is cheaper than putting together a bunch of stuff from Mazdatrix or any other place I've been.
So are Tokico springs fine? I'm sure a lot of it can just be personal preference but I just want some info I don't know perhaps.

Different spring rates are the difference Im sure. Theres also the Eibach progressive rate springs which as I understand it, actually change spring rates depending on whats going on. These are what I want for my car, however, some people dont like the idea because the fact that they change rates can cause unpredictable driving.

Tokico doesn't make those springs anymore - they were discontinued last spring. You should check to see whether rx7.com actually has any left.
Personally I think that you can't go wrong with Racing Beat - they really know what they're doing and the stuff has been exclusively and exhaustively designed for the RX-7. I mean, do you really think Eibach, Tokico or whoever have put as much R&D into their RX-7 springs as RB has?
You might also look into the Ground Control coilovers by the way - they'd probably be able to put you together a nice package.

Can't give an opinion, but I have some facts. Just did the research prior to purchasing a suspension package. Here's what I found regarding spring rates:
Front
Stock 100
Racing Beat 145
Suspension Techniques 85/120 (progressive)
Eibach 171
Tokico 145
Rear
Stock 85
Racing Beat 110
Suspension Techniques 80
Eibach 100
Tokico 121
I'm new to the forum, by the way. I found a rust-free, carbon-locked '84 'S' that had been sitting in someone's front yard for 9 years, and am spending the winter restoring it to "stock plus" condition.
Glad to be on board. First post.

Just looking at the numbers, and taking into account that you might not be able to get the Tokico's, I'd go with the RB's, because they're balanced very close to the stock rates (as in, rear rate as a percentage of front), but have a slightly harder front spring, which will slightly increase steering response without getting out of hand.

You should find the thread in the for sale section that had the Ground Control auto-x setup for sale. It had the coilovers, springs, bar, camber plates, and 4 Tokico adjustables. I don't know if it's still available, but the last time I looked, the seller had lowered the price to $650, which is one hell of a deal. -WG
