Spent 13 hrs yesterday, finished my interior!

FINALLY got this job done. Its been buggin me and all my friends for well over a year. I carpeted the amp rack, and customized the rear quarter panels to accomodate the 6x9's. Check out the pics:

This is what it looked like yesterday morning:

This is what it looked like at 4:00 AM this morning:

Those are Infinity Kappa 639.3 or something. Here are the fronts, Infinity kappa 52.5i:

The center console, w/ the new shift **** and racing beat short shifter. If you dont have a short shifter, you NEED ONE. they are amazing!:

Another angle of the rear 6x9's:

Looks like you have a full hatch! I like it, I suppose it sounds awsome, too!

I put 6x9s in my old car, but I cut a hole in the plastic pice and screwed the speakers to that. It was ghetto-riffic . That looks a LOT nicer than mine did...

Good Job Geoff!

Just when I think your car couldn't get any more awesome, you always come through and surprise me.

That box = ****. Its a sealed generic box. I had mike p-28 build me a custom box, but i havent had a chance to have it shipped over yet. He built it like over a year ago. Its frickin $90 to ship that ****!!!

Thats the next step for the stereo. That will make it look a lot nice too. THe box is ported specifically to my subs and amp. Should be a LOT nicer than what i have in there now....

Sorry man, but I have to say your install looks like ****. It looks too chop shop to me. I agree that your sub box is **** too. I would never use a ready made box. I always custom build my own boxes. I also don't see the need for 6x9's in a 7. You got a real small space to fill with sound. Rgular 6.5" speakers will do the job just as well. Size doesn't always matter you know. I just have to say its one of the worst I have seen, besides my friends camaro (don't know jack **** about a good system). Looks like you have a ways to go too before you learn some very important points.

I'm sorry if I have offended you, but I am a real critic when it comes to stereo installs. If it don't look right, then it ain't supposed to be there. That is deffinately something that is wrong with your car. Good choice of the infinity kappas though. Good quality speaker those are.

Can we see some pics of your install, so we all can learn how it's supposed to be done.

Which proves you're an idiot. If doesn't work good it's not supposed to be there, if it doesn't look good (which is personal opinion anyway) it might still "need" to be there. You tell him his choice of speakers is good, but the looks aren't. That's your opinion, but with any serious person function will always be more important then looks.
That said, I find this a tidy and clean install. I have no idea about the quality, as I'm not familiar with the components, and my seven lost most sound deadening materials, so it's way to loud inside to have a stereo on, especially when cruisin' at 100mph (god bless German autobahn )

Nice, clean install man. You did the carpet very well and I think the 6x9s look rather good in the back, with the cut out trim piece that was a smart thing to do, not just cut a hole and bolt them down. As for the hater, I would like so see some pictures of your install if you are the almighty stereo god.

It looks orriginal with the carpet inset with the speaker. It matches the rest of the back and looks quite good. I'm sure it looks even better in person.

Don't worry Geoff... after ABF, you can post a picture of your trophy. That will shut them up.

I'm hoping that you're going to get your windows tinted. I wouldn't want to read about your windows getting bashed in because somwone wanted your stereo.

the smaller speakers on the 6x9s are going to be blocked by the box, still nice work though. i bet you will build a custom box after awhile, prefabs are for trunks. i bet you will be able to come up with a good idea on how you will build it.

good luck
