spent $150 on fuel pump and regulator and its worse then before

and its pissing me off...im still boggin after 4000 rpm in 3rd 4th and 5th...but now in all gear when i stump on it (WOT) it bogs and will die if i done push in the clutch and baby it back...

can anyone help??

i believe the regulator is set at 3psi or so... should i try adjusting it for more fuel and test drive again? or is it another problem?

Thanks

You have another problem. 3psi is "in the ballpark".

How old is the fuel filter? You didn't mention that. Are the fuel lines clear? (Fuel lines from tank to filter, filter to pump, pump to carb, lines on the carb, last-chance filter screens on the banjo fittings, banjo fittings themselves, passages inside the carb to the needle & seats)

I had a hell of a problem with clogging of the internal carb passages upstream of the needle and seats. Be careful because if the bajo fitting is weak from rust, you can easily break it in half, especially it it galls in the carb top... and galling is extremely easy as well.

you've got to check from the gas tank forward, to rule out any problem in between,,, sounds like the 'ol fuel filter problem 12a w/ nikki carb.
