Speedo Cable and Autometer???

I have an '85 12A motor and manual transmission in a '74 Triumph Spitfire. I have an Autometer Speedometer that takes a cable with a 5/8 x 18 thread speedo cable. Does anyone know if the factor speedo cable will fit to this Autometer guage? I have searched the internet and am finding quite a few cheap cable but no specs on them.

The gauge end of the factory cable is just a press-on type connector. No threads.
