My "SPEC" pressureplate reversed(inverted) itself in the middle of 4th gear at the track,
ans shattered my clutch into 100 pieces.

It destroyed my tranny, made holes in my hood, cut oil lines, and cracked my rear end
plate on the engine.

IMO - They suck - bad.

I haven't had any problems with mine. A couple weeks ago I had the pressure plate off and had a look at the clutch after 5000 miles, still looks great. Maybe Alex's was defective or somehow the PP screws came loose? Or maybe I'm lucky.

Did you ever take pics of the PP and disk Alex?

check out the (lack of) bellhousing, and my downpipe.

I am running an A.C.T. Xtreme 4 puck clutch and HD Pressure plate now, with a stainless/braided clutch line.

ouch, that looks pretty painful. thats the first bad thing i have ever heard about them. people on the mustang boards swear by them. setzup, do you have the flywheel also, or just the clutch? maybe i'll just stick with the racing beat stuff.

for what it's worth, they have a pretty good reputation with MR2 Turbo crowd (on some pretty powerful cars and guys with enough money to have choices). in all honesty, i read more good testimonials than bad, but i'm still leery of them. it all comes down choice, experiences and bit of luck, i guess.

despite the bad things people say about ACT, i still use their clutches on both my MR2 Turbo and my Rx-7.
