Spark Yellow 1979!! Is new owner here?

Hello all, I was watching a beautiful spark yellow with 75k miles go on flea day for 3800 dollars. This car appeared to be a very solid original car. It was 1 female owner, with all paperwork, including the original window sticker and all books and manuals. Removable sunroof and manual trans. I can't believe it sold so low. If I wasn't already an owner of an SA, I would have bid on it.
I hope a member bought it up. I just can't believe a car this nice would sell for so little? The RX7 is such a beautiful sporty car, and it sells for so little?

I guess it is good for us, as our love stays cheap, but I don't get it.

Anyway good luck to the new owner. I hope it was an enthusiast and not a flipper. If you're here, post up pix and a full report!!!

Yes, I saw this car too. Looked nice here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/332076245919?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Many times, cars appear to sell on eBay only to re surface later.

Thanks for posting it Bonzai!!! I simply can't believe that some real nice cars sell for sub 4000 dollars. Last summer, I saw a low mileage clone of my 79 silver for the same 3800 dollars.. My guess is most people are afraid of the rotary?

The 1st gen RX is a really beautiful car, and the only thing I will say they could have done better is install a rack and pinion as opposed to a steering box. That to me, is the only design shortcoming.

This yellow car had me very tempted to bid. I realize I don't need it, but I did like the car and the story attached.

Like I said, this keeps our hobby reasonably priced, although, 2 years ago, when I was looking, I had to pay near 5000 for my car ( and that was with an Automatic, ugh). I thought the low mileage and relative easy use due to the auto would make it a solid foundation.

Well, like I said, I hope an enthusiast winds up with it at that price!!!

If you find yourself with an itch, I doubt it will get any cheaper to scratch it in the future. Deals are still to be had but they, like real nice examples are becoming more rare. As long as you have the storage and motivation, more than one Rx can be a good thing. You can get a good driving fix while splitting the miles between two cars! The mysterious Rotary has always been a turn on to many but a turn off to others.

Rotaries are just about the coolest thing you can burn gas with! And when it's drinking the contents of your wallet, it sort of feels like you have a hungry kid that depends on you for survival.

Buying one feels like an adoption, and selling one feels like a death in the family...

Or maybe that's just me :P
