Which spark plugs, 79w/ 81-85 electronic ign.

A freind of mine has just aquired a 79 that has been converted to 81-85 electronic ignition, on the original motor. The added kicker here is that the TR system has also been updated a later exhaust manifold (with a fancy block off plate between the motor and manifold) and no cats. A header will likely be installed soon.
This brings up a slight dilema. Which spark plugs should we put into this engine? The 79 plugs were designed for points. It currently has a set of autolites that had been in my car (83), as we managed to flood it badly, and swapped out the plugs in an effort to get it running.
I am thinking we need to use the NGK plugs for the 81-85 12a, since it has that ignition system in it. This is a fresh rebuild, not even fully broke in yet, which is part of how we managed to flood it.
Am I thinking correctly, that the plugs should be the ones for the later motor? Or should we use the plugs that were originally used in the 79?

I like the denso W22 plugs .. as afore mentioned, the BR8 NGK;s also work well...

I don't recommend using the FC + plugs (EG.. bUr series) with the pre-85 ignitions.

I had one car that really liked to Flood. I put some Denso's in it and they took care of the problem.

Me too. This car was a total pain in the ***. I pulled the Denso's from a junk engine and it fired right up on them. the guy that bought it from has not had a bit of trouble out of the car.
