Spark plug applications for the SE

awhile back someone told me..can't find the thread:
that you could use 86' 13B plugs in my 84' SE
and that this was a better setup
any truth to this?
I ask, as I have just pulled my plugs..and oh yeah they need replacing once again (11 months)
I need to start carrying a spare set or two

Match your plugs to your ignition system...

If you've got the stock distributor, use the NGK BR8EQ-14's...

If you've gone up to a 2nd gen direct fire coil, run the NGK BUR7/9EQ or whateve rthe FC's run..

I'm not sure what to do if you're running DLIDFS with 1st gen style coils. Run one of each and be like that one POS I worked on with an Autolite, a Champion, a Nippon Denso, and an NGK... (No. Don't, really. That was bad.)

For DLIDFIS, I recommend BUR7EQ in leading.

Because trailing is still through the cap, use BR8EQ-14.

cost run/try both - what the hell
identical drivability - hot start - cold start - moderate - light - and full throttle

When I had my '84 -SE I did run what ever NGK's the N/A fc's ran. Never had a problem and ran great.

I have mad the mistake of running autolites in my -SE (hey, I was a broke kid) but that lasted about 1 week. Got the NGK's and plenty of PB&J

The SE stock plugs are NGK BR9EQ-14's. I just picked them up from O'reilly Auto Parts for $5.49 each.
