They are worth next to nothing used and generally won't be damaged in any way... Does it have to be new?

Has anyone successfully replaced the "permanent" gaskets on this spacer? Can gasket sealant or some sort of adhesive be used to properly seal the replacement gaskets that come with the carb rebuild kits?

If you've attempted this, what was done and what were your results?

The reason i'm asking is because I rebuilt my carb and changed out the spacer gaskets not knowing this shouldn't be done. I did make sure that all vacuum holes are as they were originally. After assembly I had symptoms of a faulty shutter valve and I needed to have my idle mixture set much richer (3 turns vs 1 turn originally) in order for it to maintain a proper idle.

thats not a bad deal... biggest problem with used spacers is that they might not fix your problem, unless your problem is you don't have one at all.

mazdatrix is selling them new for 150 bucks, but i am not a big fan of mazdatrix and usually my last choice when purchasing parts
