Sound Deadning Material

Alright lets discuss this,

Now I know that the thicker the material the better, but besides dynamat which honestly costs an arm and a leg what have you guys used? The company that I might consider to go with is this:

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php?cPath=24

Prices are pretty good, and comparable thickness to dynamat. I would like to hear what you guys have used, and how much of a difference it has made.

DO NOT USE EDEAD we use to be an ed dealer there speakers sound gr8 but they wont cover them for anything (5year warranty my ***) and the sound deadning is very thin it dosnt stick well peels right back off. and the cars we used it on it didint seem to make much of a diff..

if you dont want to pay for the dynamat name(its good stuff) i dont blame you.. get second skin its the best i have ever used and the price is amazing.. and ant is a gr8 guy to deal with
http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ you can tell him CCSS sent you

Hey . I used Fatmat on my project. It worked great. Stuck awesome, really made my car sound more solid, keeps sound in, and sound out, works good for road heat, and exhaust. . I did the whole floor pan of my car firewall to rear. It is something like 45mills thick and will add about 25lbs or so. You can buy a 50 sqft roll for like $50 , including shipping, off ebay. I used about 55 sqft. I didn't do my door panels though. I'm overall happy with it. Just another option.

Ya the ones i'm looking at have about 50% more beef at about 65 mils so should be even better, but either way both comparable prices. Thanks for the insight people.

Anyone tried using just the paintable stuff on the vertical panels?

Anyone used Boom Mat from Design Engineering Inc?

Classic Motorsports magazine used some of their heat shield on a project car. Don't know about the sound deadener.

If you ever want to do your door panels I wouldn't hesitate to recommend "Stingers Roadkill" sound damping products. I bought a 2-door kit from them to do the doors on my GSL-SE (that lousy plastic sheet doesn't last forever and the door lets too much road noise/heat/cold in.) The difference was amazing. It's pricey but woth it to me. Easy to work with and I can still cut it to access window adjustment screws, regulators, motors, door locks, etc and it will reseal again.

I've have a gallon in the garage right now. Used it on my sunroof and soon will do it on my doors behind the panels. Its THICK, hard to spread even, but it will do it.

i have used most of the brands roadkill, dynomat,eDead and second skin and a few others

second skin is some of the best stuff i have used.. the all do more or less the same thing.. and are almost all a big improvement over stock.. imo second skin is the best bang of the buck.. as for the spred on stuff it works bet not as good as the sheets... i have used a thick coat of sluge on the doors with 3 layers of Damplifier Pro and 2 layers of Over Kill Pro thos doors didint make any noise and it was super quite in the van... this was also a demo van but i have used it on many other cars the stuff works gr8
