I have been in the roofing industry for over ten years and the Ice & water protection or leak barrier can be found in any home improvement store, there is a film faced material that is sticky like crazy and that is what I would use over the sand or granual face on vertical surfaces because in the heat the sand or granual face products will probably come off. There is also something called BLUE SKIN by Bakor and that is uses for roughly the same thing but is mostly used on exterior walls. http://www.bakor.com/residential_weatherbarrier.asp

Where exactly did you put yours? I'm thinking I'll remove my dash (again), take out all the carpet (again) and do every surface I can. Did you do the insides of your doors? If so, how did you do it?

For the doors, it goes on the inside of the outer door skin, above and below the crash bar. If you want quiet, apply 2-3 layers, overlapping the seams. Cover everything that won't interfer with the trim install, roof, inside the rear fenders, bin frames, rear section between the tail lights wheel wells etc. Cover everything that was covered oem and concider foaming the A and B pillars and the roof frame voids. Do not foam voids in the lower part of the body as the foam can hold and retain moisture.
The more you can deaden the bottom part of the car, i.e. floor pan, and any large surface that can vibrate, the quieter it will be.

a tip for cheap *** 1st genners- try this stuff:
200 sq ft for 175, cheaper than peel n seal and no asphalt.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Polyken-360-35-B...QQcmdZViewItem
fully butyl, good to over 300 F, way cheaper than butyl sound mat. I know it's a bit thinner at 35 mills vs 45 or 60, but should be enough to deaden, use multiple layers at that price i bet.

sure would be a lot easier than with stuff 3' wide... one of my parts cars someone had used stuff even narrower than this, and it seemed to work really well. it was like 1.5" or something.

For any hatchback type car I've ever had (and I've had many over the years), a heck of a lot of the road noise comes from the back tire wells, and the rear hatch area. Its just a big open drum back there. Personally, that's where I'd put a lot of it, unless you have a particularly loud engine.

yeah, I live in Cali, I really can't put that asphalt stuff under my black interior, it would probably melt. You should see how hot the roads get in the summer time, roofs get over 160 degrees.
