My 80LS made it to 212,000 miles before the engine went, and that was partly my doing in not keeping track of the oil cooler lines (under radiator mount). It was still running strong until it was oil starved and quickly burned itself up. Original engine, original odometer.

My 84SE is still running better than strong at 174,000 miles, original engine (13B RE-EGI), and original odometer - I'm the second owner.

These things will run a long time if you keep them topped up with fresh oil and take care of maintenance before it becomes too costly. I would expect that most folks here know how to make their cars last, otherwise you would have sold it a long time ago and would not be a member of an enthusiasts' forum.

I agree.

155,000 miles.. stock '84 GSL-SE except for a 16# flywheel and a Centerforce II clutch with stock disc.. just had a compression check, 7.0 - 7.9 all around..

Jim, is that your dog?

The odometer in my '85 GSL 12A sez 135,000 miles (car is originally from California), which = approx. 216,000 km.
Of course who knows if that odometer has ever been spun (or instrument cluster replaced), or if that is the original 12A? All stock except for the omp adapter that I installed, so it could very well be the original engine.

My -SE has 132k on it, and to the best of my knowledge the 13B is all original. The only parts that aren't stock are the K&N cone, some shiny-looking oil cooler lines, and the holes in the exhuast system.

My '82 had 240,000 kms when I sold it and ran good. My '79 has 109,000 miles on it (Texas car) and runs even better than the '82. With proper maintinence there is no reason why a 1st gen shouldn't get to 200k miles on the original engine.

I have two GSLs, 132,000 on the 84 and its original engine, 152,000 on the 85 (the Turd, see http://members.cardomain.com/turd10
for pics), not sure if this one has been rebuilt but it sure looks like everyting is stock. These cars eat up the miles, I've put on better than 50,000 since getting my first one two years ago.

150,000 on OD. To the best of my knowledge original motor. Just think all of you hate the beehive....Must be working ok to hit 150k. Car sat for a few years before I got it last fall. I only need a new cap/rotor and i'll be all set.
