Soon to be another '7' on the road again.

Wow i havent posted in a long time!

Lots have been going on in my garage. Mostly involving ROTARY POWER BABY!

I finally got the RX7 in the garage and got to putting my 12a into it. 5 hours into it and i just started putting the carb on. SLOW! I have only taken out one rotary. But done lots of Honda's and Yoters and such. But anywho.... I had to swap the beehive over and take off all the rats nest on my transplant motor. That was easy. Now i need to start the damn thing!!! I have my GSL-SE axle rear axle swap sitting in the garage begging to go in the car!

I will post pics tomaro. I will also have pics of my 1st 12a (i have 3 total) that is all torn apart. It is very cool!

Just to check and see if i am missing anything!

What all do you need to do for the beehive removal and axle swap? I have custom brake lines made already.

search for trochoids thread in the archives called "how to install an FC oil cooler in a 1st gen. Write-up, with pics"

it will tell you all you need to know about removing the beehive, and assuming ur replacing it with a second gen cooler. helpful either way

I have done NOTHING to the gray car. It is a parts car. I am stealing the axle out of it. It is a GSL-SE rear axle.

I have to get a vehicle inspection done on the blue car so the engine will be coming out of it after that. Then i will be painting the engine bay and powder coating a bunch of parts.

Best thing you can do is download a copy of the FSM per the link in my signature for reference work.

i would also swap over the front suspension to an SE setup as well. this will give you an even bolt battern front to rear and enable you to have matching wheels.

With the ReSpeed kit, yes, GXL brakes are also the same as the TII's. No point in doing so unless you upgrade the fronts first. Front brakes do 60%+ of total braking, last thing one needs is having the rear brakes lock up first. You can't do the front big brake kit until you upgrade to the SE/FB front struts. The 4 pot front calipers require a 15"+ wheel. I assume the rears need larger rims too, Check with Billy at ReSpeed to confirm.

Ok. Simple enough.

Has anyone heard of swapping the whole front clip off a second gen onto a first en?
