Some People Just shouldn't be allowed to drive...

And this is why....

Quick story--> The guy backed into my 1985 Rx-7 w/ his ford pick-up truck, while my car was parked in front of my house. He was picking up a railing to be sand blasted for my parents. I guess he wasn't expecting a bill in return to the amount of what's is probably going to be $1500 at least. He said he didn't even realize he backed into my car. WTF??

Anyways, from the pics you can see that the impact from his truck actually shifted/moved my entire car, causing the center cap to be pushed out from the force.

And the great part of it all, when I went to start the car to move it, the motor didn't turn over. I am guessing the impact must have caused the wires going to the starter to somehow come off or somthing of that nature. Either way, I got ALL of his info and expenses will be accounted for on his behalf.

Inside, right under the front driver's side headlight. You can see the bracket that is bent in

Look at how the car was pushed towards the curb.

I own a 1 ton dually cube van with a 12' box on it. Weighs 8400 lbs. empty. Even if I couldn't see your car when I hit it, I would feel it, to do that much damage. The moron is lying through his teeth, he knows he hit it.

The exact same thing happened to my old 1st gen. while it was parked outside a friends place. The damage was almost identical. Trippy.

Yep. Make sure this dude pays, you've got a nice 7 and it deserves to get properly repaired.

Are you going to go through his insurance or is he going to pay for it out of his pocket?

Ouch, that looks like a lot more than a $1,500 mistake, depending on the damage inside I'd bet more like $2,500-$3,000. You may have to go on the offensive to make sure his insurance company doesn't total the car and give you the blue book on it.

Thanks guys. Yes, he is going to go through his insurance and I guess I'll just be getting the paint job I planned on a little sooner then expected . The only thing that sucks is that now, my car will not be ready for RotorFest .
Ya, I need to find out some more info on how his insurance company will deal w/ this and I obviously don't want the car totaled out.

Damn. It definitely could have been worse, but I'll tell you what---that guy is going to pay.

At least it wasn't my vert (parked about 30 feet away)

Damn that sucks, just in time for rotorfest too .

at least the wheels aren't bent and ur ok. I hope to still see you at rotorfest, even with the car down and all. I recently got my entire car sprayed over again just cause of the minor dent on the drivier's side.

It sucks to have a color you can't match completely. At least you can throw in a few bucks and have the whole car sprayed clear again and get a front airdam that isn't cracking this time.

Good luck.
