SOB won't budge -- Which of these would you buy?

OK, the dude with the nice SE (84,000 miles) won't budge. He's at $3600. I think it's too much. Anyone else have thoughts?

I have alternatives:

A mint 85 GS with only 58,000 miles, $3500 or best offer

A mint 83 GS with only 30,000 miles for $5000

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'd still get the -SE.

I'd get the se, only$100 more than the 85 gs and you get a 13-B f.i.,better brakes and a wheel bolt pattern you can get wheels for easy.

IMO I'd get the -SE for the stated reasons above, if youve got $3500, you should be able to scrape up $100 more for a better piece of machinery. I sure love my -SE, although, my GSL is fun too!

Any other thoughts? Am I placing too much value on low miles, for example, getting an ultra mint GS with 30,000 fewer miles at a lower price? Responses here say screw it, go for the SE. Hmmm.....

A well maintained rotary will run forever, 30,000 miles is just a drop in the bucket really.

If the se is nice, I 'd go for the se...I think the price is not that bad either!!!These are collectables , the other models are all nice "only" cause of the low miles...you will do better selling the car also if you have a "se"..I think the se's are slowly going up in value and harder and harder to fine a pretty nice on...If this is a "pretty nice one" , bite the bullitt and get it......just my two cents worth......cjf..........

The -SE has the most bulletproof rotary ever. It could have 180k on it and you wouldn't know. I miss my -SE

I don;t know about the car being bullet proof....I heard the apex seals can be suspect....but I do agree that if you take care of it (like anything else right??) , it should go 180,000- 200,000 miles...
