So how bad is it to drive without a heat sheild?

Or with a bent drive shaft? I'm not really sure which. My problem is I set my little FB aside and was driving my girlfriend's ford focus for the last week because she was in the hospital and her car had working AC.

Well I set my 7 on the slight incline that is my drive way, set the e-brake and was off in the focus. Now that I'm back in the RX-7 I can hear a rythmic sound when driving. I've propped my 7 up on jack stands in the drive way and have discovered that the drive shaft is brushing up against the heat sheild.

I have no idea how this has happened to my car. There's no rust on the underside of the car, so I'm very doubtfull that the unibody is bent out of wack, but why would the drive shaft be bent too? Now it could be a little peice of scuz has gotten lodged up and attached itself to the drive shaft, or some bolt in the drive shaft is comming undone... I haven't gotten the heat shield off yet (Came in to get my wrenches, and decided to post on the forums too.) I did hear a weird grinding noise for a couple seconds when I was first backing out of my driveway, but I had acredited that to a little bit of curb rash, since I was moderately close to the curb as I came out.

I'm gona pull stuff off to see what it looks like under their, but if I can't tell, I'm hoping you guys will tell me it's OK to still drive my 7 since it's the only transportation I've got right now.

Your cabin may get a little hot, but otherwise it will be ok.
