so the GSL got a little 13B

now all it needs is to be tuned up, and an exhaust setup. so ive got the Racing beat streetable headers. as for the rest, im planning on having a dynomax muffler (presilencer) and a magnaflow stainless steel muffler. i guess those can stand the heat. but what is the best style of magnaflow for me? are any of you familiar with them. are the dual tipped mufflers higher flowing, or is single tip the way to go? what width is good? i was thinking the 5" by 8" oval shaped ones, or a 5 inch single tip. is there a certain type that do well with rx7's?

pleeeeze, dont think of exhaust in the size of the tip. that = not good. now, piping diameter, yes. it sounds like your n/a so 2.5" should be nice. magnaflow ROX.

well the inlet diameter is 2.5 inches. but i was saying that because i read somwhere that exhaust flows better out of a dual tipped muffler. is this wrong? which is the best design, like a straight through single tip? (like a cylinder) or one similar to a stock first generation muffler?

and the dynomax muffler is the "bullet" style, it will come right after the header.

The tips of the muffler have almost no affect on exhaust flow. They are almost entirely and completly a bling factor.
But on the other hand those ones with the LED exhaust tips are suposed to be good for some good power.
I have heard to stick to the blue lights if its N/A supposed to be a good combo. Red lights are awsome if you are running turbo or nitrous. Should show some very signifigant power gains.

you will get better results if you move it toward the axel insted of right behind the header ( sound wise) the bullet muffler is rated at 1500 degrees be careful on the magnaflow and call them on the temp rating for the one you are choseing. some of them are rated as low as 800 degrees and only have a thin layer of stainless wool packing . make sure you are talking to the tech dept or you will get yea sure it will work. you will need a min of 1200 degree rating.

okay, im not a ricer 851stgen. i just READ SOMEWHERE DUAL TIP MUFFLERS CAN LET MORE AIR THROUGH. but i guess i was wrong.... i had the bullet stype dynomax running on my fc for a 1000 miles or so, no damage. i think they can stand the heat. but yeah, im curious on how hot the exhaust gets. i know im going to ask about the temperature.

so i guess the single outlet 5" style will work. and the thickest SS packed one i can get.
