snapped driveshaft

Question snapped driveshaft

so got my 12a j port working good with 4 barrel carby and points ignition.had power in full rev range.then my driveshaft snapped at u joints at gearbox end.lost splin/yoke.need another one.pretty shaw it is a s3 rx7 box.just need splin end.can weld on if sum1 has spare

Will one from this car work? it's at the local junk yard, also just so you know they do still make drive shafts for the 1st gen RX7 any drive shop could get you one mine cost a little over 200 installed

Just go buy a new one if you've snapped an old one like that. They're relatively cheap and easy to find. Mazdatrix is a good location to find one as well, they'll ship it to you for pretty cheap.

Just out of curiosity, did you have any indication that the front spider was going out? Asking, as I think the front U-joint is going on my car and will be crawling under it tomorrow to see. On the way home from SS20, I noticed a speed specific dull knocking that I'm guessing is the front.
I know that rear U-joint failure will be fast and gets your attention, because it feels like the rear end is going to fall off. Thanks, and good luck,
