Smog pump ???

OK guys and possibly gals. I took off the smog pump on my 12A this is a 84 GS if it matters. Anyways so I took that off and put an electric fan in for the radiator. All to aleveate the parasitic drag issue but the car has a nasty miss around 5000rpm under WOT. What's wrong? and it sometimes misses at slightly higher rpm but not as bad. I though well maybe it's too lean now so I added fuel to it but it doesn't seem to matter a whole lot but it did get a bit better. Is it just that it needs even more fuel? The idle is a bit higher now since adding the fuel but that doesn't concern me even if it idles at 1000 is fine by me as long as there's no miss under WOT. Any ideas of why this is happening?

And the ignition timing is set at 20 degrees ATDC (Stock) and the motor is absolutely stock besides that. Ecept no hot start assist motor. (Garbage)

If you adjusted the screws on the carb to add fuel, all you did is change the idle mixture, put it back stock per the FSM. If you are having misfires in the upper rpm ranges, it is either ignition break up or fuel delivery. If it is a flat spot, it may be sticking vacuum secondaries.
