slow starter car wont start

ok so my brother just bought a 85 gsl-se and it drove fine for about 3 day then one nite it flooded and we hand to pull the plugs and drain it then we replaced all the plugs with new ones. wile we were working on the car the radio was on and the battery died so we had to push start it, after we did it ran fine for about 5 mins till it ran out of gas so we filled it up and tryed to start it but now it wont staryt no matter what and when you go to start it it turns over but ever rotation it gets slower and slower till it just stops turnins all together and it wont push start any more. so plz any help would be great and hope we can get it up and running again

First, check the plugs agian and make sure you have plenty of fuel. If that doesn't solve it, you may have ran the tank down and plugged the pickup screen in the tank with debris.

Battery needs to be fully charged, if that still doesn't help, then check/clean all of the battery cable connections. Might be a good time to replace the cables if they are original.

Bad grounds won't discharge a battery. Somthing else is draining it off. That can be a pita to trace down, start with any non-oem items.

its all stock we got it from an impound lot the kid they took it from lost it racing. when we got it it had no power steering belt or fuild and no air pump belt. it looks too be in good shape and nothing has been hacked out to my knowledge but you can never tell. i just thought it was wierd how its always started realy slow almost rotating to slow to start even with a new battery

That's very common with bad battery calbes. Even with good cables and a bad battery, they can be hard to jump start somedays. The fuel pump switch indicates it may have had a flooding problem/leaking injectors. Many choose this quick fix instead of doing it correctly.

It was a bad starter then. I have yet to notice any difference between them. To simplify tracing down the drain, disconnect one of the battery cables, the connect a multimeter between the cable end and the batt post. You should see a tiny reading. Pull fuses from under the dash 1X1 to test circuits. Keep in mine the clock pulls a slight load all the time, as does any aftermarket head unit.
