those are cool and all but the ones i saw on car domain had the lid tops parallel to the ground... and 2 smaller lights on each side.

i agree, those are ugly as crap. i hate those. uugghh.

i plan on running "sleepy eyes" i plan on switching to two smaller lights rather than the large so when they are in their sleepy state theyre totally usable and still look good.

thats what i tryed except i tryed using one rectangle light that was 2.5x5 and it looked SO sweet but after making one 1/3" thick plate of alumnim to mount the light i relized the top of the plate i could just tighten down but the bottom one i would need to put like 50 washers in order for it to seat right and even then i wouldnt be able to open and close the light without the plate hitting the header panel

the pivot unit is like $80 on ebay, but i know theres a way to do it with parts from radioshack for wayyyyy cheaper.

didn't someone do a sleepy eye conversion with a miata kit.., was a back a year or so ago, had the sleep eye's, with 2 smaller round lights.. replacing the stock one, so it was still totally useable at night

Those aren't sleepy eyes. That's a headlight conversion kit. Sleepy eyes is simply regulating the headlights enough so that it gives that characteristic. hence the name.
