Silly question about hood scoops/cowls

I feel terrible for having to ask this but.... How do you prevent water from entering and soaking your Air filter? My 12A seems to have been modified and the round blue cover is not there, but has a square block shaped air filter over the carb.

Anyway, Im wondering how people avoid water getting there. Not that I plan to wait till it rains to drive, butyou never know.

Do you have the stock carb? From the description of the air filter, it sounds like it has an aftermarket carb. A pic would help.

The filter will keep minor amounts of water out of the engine, a little isn't going to hurt. Why do you feel you need a hood scoop?

Well, im just trying to do everything I can to increase performance.

Yeah dont think its the factory carb, Im not familiar with all this stuff but theres tons of stuff labeled Racing Beat in there. Ill try to take a pic this week maybe everyone here can help me narrow down exactly what is in my engine! Thanks for the response.
