Sideplates

I was wondering what to look for in determining if the side and intermediate plates are good enough to reuse. I searched for a bit and I didn't find much. Also when did they start nitriding them? After 1979? Here are pics of the ones in question.

Thanks

that first pic looks like it's got bad step wear. scratch at the surface with ur finger nail to see how much of that step wear u can feel. they can possible be resurfaced, lapped, and reused if the wear isn't too bad.

It might be the flash from the camera exaggerating the step wear.

yeah pics arent good enough, you have to actually touch it.

if you dont have tools, you run your finger across it, if it catches a fingernail, it needs to be replaced or resurfaced.

the nitriding starts with the rx7 engines in 78
