Okay, in the last week I have gone from having 155/80/13 with the ORIGINAL suspension, and a bad alignment to having 205/50/15s on kosie's with illumina shocks and B&G lowering springs and had the car aligned.


Holy god, can this car handle,

there is a S turn by my house that I used to take at 30 with heavy tire squeal,

about a hour ago I took it at nearly 80mph (best of like 10 tries)

wow,

anyways, I was wondering is do lowering springs have to settel or am I stuck with the ride height I have.

Right now I have about 3/4 inch of fender gap all around, I would like that to go down allittle so that the tire is real close to the fender.

YOu have inspired me and I am Just ancie with glee.
In about a week I am throwing a set of Kosei K1 wheels with Bfgoodrich G/Force kd's onder my 85 gs.
Tokico Illuminas, RB springs, Sway bars, and RB streetport exhaust. header back.
I am glad to hear your experience.
But sorry I dont know the answer to your question.

Can't comment on the springs (those'll come after the RB exhaust) but the front swaybar makes an amazingly significant difference in handling.

The springs might settle a little but you don't really want to go much lower than that. The front doesn't have much travel to begin with and the rear should ideally sit about 10mm lower to obtain the correct roll centres.

well right now the car has a great, even stance

I would like to have it a little lower,

Mantis, did you have no sway bar before or did you just upgrade to a RB one vs stock

Cause I was thinking of buying a set to replace my stock ones.

I have zero body roll right now and I dont know if they will make a difference.

I replaced the stock one with the RB one. My only complaint is all the squeaking.

Manntis, What Bushings are you running on your sway-bar

polyurethanes that came with 'em from Racing Beat. The firmness is great, but the squeaking makes my gorgeous car sound like a clunker. It's loud enough for onlookers to hear, too.

Have you tried the greasable bushings? That should fix any squeaking. Quickor susp. makes a good one.

yup, they stop squeaks and become dirt magnets instead, creating your very own sandpaper-textured paste inside moving components of your suspension - always a favorite of metal surfaces.

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take to get the new bushings in? How tough was it?

TEFLON TAPE. Forget the polyurethane grease, it just makes a mess and gets squeezed out by the bushings after the first few hundred miles. Wrap the sway bar with a piece of teflon tape that covers the area where the bushing sits. Pretty much eliminates your sqeaking and lasts a long time...
