Should I worry?

I overfilled my engine a little bit with my oil change this weekend. I let half a quart out, but the oil level is still above the max line (with the dip stick pushed all the way in). It is a hassle to get more oil out and my oil pressures are notmal (60 under load and at the first mark at idle).

Should I spend the time and effort to remove the excess oil or should I jst let the oil injectors and ane dowl pin oil leak take its course? I do not want to blow out an oil gasket or something, but I honestly do not know if it is a big deal on this siv that we call an engine.

Any advise?

Past the gridded part, and just on the smooth maybe 1/8"

The pressures are the same as before even though I am using Formula Shell Full Syntethic 5w-30.

My old 12a never smoked at all, until I accidently overfilled the crank case. I wouldn't risk it, drain some more out....

I guess I will get one of those pumps to pull the oil out from the filler and take some out. My tow trailer and tools are all at a friends house along with my jacks as I live in a small apt. in the city. I use my trailer as my car lift as that way I do not risk damaging the jacking points and it is quicker just to roll on. I think they sell them at Pepboys. I will go check now.

You could just use the drain plug... or take off the oil filter and drain it, then reinstall it...

Ahh, easier said than done. Not too easy to do while at work in business attire.

Anyway, I was able to get some of the oil out by removing the oil filter. I also used a transmission oil had pump to try to siphon some out through the oil fill cap. I got it so that the oil line just covers the lines on the F. I feel more comfortable with that.
