Should I Have bought these tires?

I bought new tires today, and the guy at the tire shop said that it was an odd ball size, and they're starting to phase out 13's, and the only thing he had in stock were these. So I bought em. The good is they're Pirellis, but the bad is they're winter tires haha. Should I have paid the extra $$ for him to order me something better? These were only $39 a piece Canadian.

I'm not a big fan of pirelli, but for the price you can't go wrong. They will probably grip well on dry pavement as well. Run with them till u can get some different rims or something with a more available tire size. There just isn't much available for 13" rims anymore.

winter tires aren't that great to run on dry pavement. Put 'em on your backup rims and save 'em for snowy days and mountain trips

Yeah, and winter tires wear down *fast* on dry pavement, not to mention the fact that they'll make a heck of a lot more noise.

Winter tires are best in winter
Summer tires are best in summer
All Season tires suck at both

What size are they anyway?

They are a softer compound, but the guy said that people have told him that they wear like iron.

Lol, you've got nothing to lose from trying them out.

185/70 I think is just a bit higher profile than stock, so watch for sidewall flex. I wouldn't go taking any corners at high speeds or autocross with them, but for the el-cheapo price they'd be alright for DD tires until you can get better ones.

The Sumitomo HTR 200 205/60/13 are out of stock everywhere for a couple more months. However, the 215/50/13s are still available. They're a tad shorter than the 205s, so the spedo is off a couple mph @ 60 but I can live with it. Its a hard deal to beat for 50 bones each...

I don't know what the problem is with 13" rims. I just picked up a really good set of Cooper Stingers with raised white letters at Tic Toc Tire. The last set were a Michelin Wallmart set, but Wallyworld wouldn't deviate from the stock size. I took the footprint up on size one my new ones. It cost me one size smaller in the profile though. They handle like it's on rails.

For the record, besides the SA's, the FB's all came with 185/70R13's stock. So those pirellis are actually the stock size. Also, 205/60 is shorter than stock, and 215/50s are even shorter yet.
