Should I buy

Should I buy a 83 RX-7 GS (no sunroof) with good body, good motor, decent interior, but it needs a fuel filter and the front subframe is kinda bent. $400 cash
A guy i work next to is selling it because he just bought a new truck and has no need for it.

check for uneven tire wear... that should tell you if the cdamaged subframe has affected the front end alignment.

Bring the price down (cuz of the frame) and buy it! Tell him you're taking it off his hands.

nah he wants 700 but since i work next to him he said 400 would be fine
my shop already straightened it up and hes had the alignment done but its still a little damaged
he does know about 7's as he recently put a newer motor in it so i cant just say im doing him a favor by taking it from him
hes a mechanic and has had it for about 5 years and put a good deal of money in it but since hes trying to buy a house and what not he says he doesnt need the "money pit"

$400 be worth it as a parts car even, if it does indeed have a "newer" engine in it.

Man $400 sound pritty good, even with the besnt frame. If the frame is too bent it will still make a good parts car...

sub frame damage would bother me...depends if you want a car to drive or possibly a parts car...Hard to say if I would buy it if I was not sure whether or not the sub frame damage is significant...if you want to take the chance and that you may have a nice parts car, go for it...what do ya want for $400.00...not a huge risk here...I am looking at a 79 and it is real sweet but it has over 200,000 miles on chassis but ony 24k on the engine....decisions ,decisions???!!!,,,,,,,,cjf

He is still driving it almost daily and the tires dont show any bad uneven wear on the tires.
Right now though i am trying to get an SE so i might just wait.
