should i?

ok a buddy of mine's car just broke down
the engine has no compression and needs a rebuild
its an automatic (yea i know) 86 second gen non turbo 13b i believe
now i was contemplating... should i maybe keep the car with 240k km on it or should i just maybe buy the blown engine for like 200$ and rebuild it and plop it into my 83 rx7 gs
it would fit correct?
i dont need to know how to hook it up or anything right now i just need some opinions from you guys
worth it or what?

not many 1st gen owners need 2nd gen parts, though I might be interested in some...

for $200 Canadian dollars I say buy the engine. At the very least you can use it as a 'core' to bring down the cost if you buy another rebuilt one, or you can rebuild that one (depending on why it's "blown").

well the guy he took it too says it has no combustion and as a result it has no compression at all
i think he said the gaskets were blown or something?

usually it;s no compression = no combustion, not the other way around. Could be the apex seals, could be the side seals, but it's not the harbour seals.

Still, @ $200 Canuck Bucks you're taking very little risk in buying it
