short shifter???

hey guys just wanted to know if a stock short shifter from an FC will fit in a
84 GSL-SE 13B

because my friend that has an fc wants to sell me his for 30 bucks and is better to pay 30 than the 150 for the MK1!

Yeah what are good alternatives to the mk1 cuz its too pricy and i want a short shifter.

yea if i get a short shifter i will only pay 30 to 90 dollars depending on quality
150 is way too much!

I think there is a thread about useing miata short shifters and they only go for 90 bucks..try using the search tab you will find alot of usefull info.

yea i think ima use the miata one cuz the other shifter is from a 91 and it looks the same as mine but i rather get a new one

miata one works great all it needs is the bushing sanded and some washers.
and it has to be a 1st gen miata short shifter 90-97 i think.

You don't even need the washers. Just grease the main shift ball before placing the shifter in, and tighten down the upper retaining ring as per normal.

The FC short throws will work in the FBs. Keep in mind that the S5s have a different thread pitch for the shifter ****.

The Miata short shifter has the same thread as Miatas (obviously) and the RX-8.
