I don't know the answer to your question, but you are talking about short shifters or short throw shifters....

Anyways, "Jorx81@aol.com" was making functional short throws for a while, I dunno if he is still making them. You may be able to pick one up in the first gen parts for sale section. (thats where I snatched up mine, still waiting for it in the mail though) Maybe give Jorx a shout, he may be thinking about getting another batch started if there is enough interested, but you never know unless you ask.

Jorx81@aol.com is still making them. I'm ordering a custom job as an early christmas present for myself to fit an RE-Amemiya shift **** I've had sitting on my desk for a while.

Why do you even want a short shifter? Mazda is already notchy as hell & stiff. My Miata is the same. Tell me why you want a hard, short shift.

Well I have no idea which one of us that is intended for, so I'll give my opinion.

I don't really like the harder shift part, but it's shortened so that I can just flick my wrist down or diagonally and it'll go in there. Rather than a rowing motion with the arm.

Really I just want it because the threading on my shift **** is different from stock so I'm going to have to have the lever made for me so I can use it. Unlike most aftermarket ***** I think they should have given us these stock. It matches perfectly ( I <3 you Amemiya San!) - yeah that was gay.

I've made my own short throw shifter, extended the distance between the ***** by 7/8". It is a longer extension than any of the ones on the market and makes for a very short throw, I even extended the shifter length a little. It is the best shifter I have used in a 7. Quick, short throws and no notchiness, I don't even worry about the synchros, it's in gear before they know I've shifted. Beats the shifting in my 2nd gen hands down, need to make another one for that car too.
