I thought that these wheels had a clear coat on them. How do you polish through that?

The best thing to do is remove the clear coat with aircraft stripper and go to your local car wash with ahigh pressure nozzle or if you know someone that has a pressure washer.
Get buffing wheel that attaches to a drill and use mothers mag/aluminum polish and buff them back out, they will look like a million bucks when done. You can recoat them with clear
afterwards but i recommend that you dont. Just maintain them with mothers. rx7doctor

Stripping the clear coat has been brought up before, and I think you have mention that it will remove the dark gray painted "finger" portion from the rim, also. I think if you go the stripping route - you need to plan for repainting some of the rim (which I would consider a bitch)...

Correct me, if I'm wrong.

Masking off and redoing certain sections are part of the fun. Change those portions to match your cars paint. rx7doctor

POR-15 makes a whole wheel polish kit that I was gonna try but I never got around to it. It looks like it would do the job very well though.

I still may try it and if I do I'll let you know how it turned out.
