Question SHIfter ProBLems...TraNNY REbuLD

AFTER MY car being stolen. the shifter seems a lot "looser" and in like theres no resistance putting it into gear. goes into gears fine just dosent have that "one, two "clicks" not actually clicks but something like that...its real wiggly.... any know what was the resistance that was there before?

what is it?
what does it do?
is it bad not to have?
do i need a rebuild???

anythoughts???

im really leaning towards the bushings, they are fairly cheap and a very good upgrade even if its not your problem. im really inclined to think thats what it is though, mostly because i cant think of anything else heh. wait for some smarter people.

Were you recently incarcerated? .. hahaha j/k

Anyways onto your shifter...I'm not really getting this clicking you are trying to describe. Try removing your shifter and see if the spring inside the tranny where the shifter sits is still intact. The spring does apply some resistance to the ball end of the shifter when reassembled. Or maybe you just thrashed the hell out of it this weekend with the boyz on Angeles Crest.

YEAH JUST 90 DAYS IN COUNTY...YOU LOOK NICE AL..YOU BEEN WORKING OUT..... J/K

ANYWAYS BACK TO THE SHIFTER...YEAH WELL NAW THIS ISNT THE ONE I TOOK TO THE CREST. this one was sitting because the lower control arms broke. this was the one that got stolen remember AL. well finished dropping the whole axle and pulled the drive shaft when the lower controll arms broke the diff slid back and pulled the yoke back but barely missed comming out instead got logged on the outer circle part of where the yoke goes into.

well ill get the bushings they need to be replaced for sure...ill check that spring thanks AL and everyone else.
