Shifter to far away. Need an extender?

Shifter to far away. Need an extender?
I'm kinda short and therefor I need to put the seat very far forward.
The 1 problem I have is that I really need to fully stretch my rightarm to put in into 3rd, 5th and also 1st and also move my body a bit forward and to the right.
How can I solve this? I saw some pics somewhere of a shifter extender that looked liked a windowlever. Is this a solution?
