No, really, is that a wooden Egg? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but it looks like you literally found a wooden egg at a hobby store, turned it upside down, and stuck it on your shift ****. I know I shouldn't talk like that, but, that's what it looks like!
And don't go saying all that rice stuff either. That's not very nice
Myself, I'm just gonna get the stock shift ****, that's that. Go great with my Red/Black interior

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Huh. I personally don't like it, either. It *is* classic, but the shifter and instrument panels on an FB aren't "classic." Maybe on an SA...
My dad used to make shift ***** like that on a wood lathe. He even offered to make one for my car out of cocobolo or purple heart or some other exotic wood, but I declined. I could see the disappointment in his face...
Personally, I prefer the look of the stock black **** from the 84-85 cars. Most folks don't know this, but you can get them new at the dealer for $35!

Actually I like the old wooden 'palm' shift ***** with the shift pattern burned in the top. They are not oblong, rather kinda squat with a flat top.
The only place I have seen them is on Z parts restoration sites (old 240,260 Z's had them). I had a '75 Celica GT with one that had some leather wrap around it.
Something about the feel that is much, much nicer than a solid metal one.
IMO- hands were meant to wrap around wood and flesh! :P

I found the wood...Not sure if its an egg, but i like the shape...it feels nice to shift...and sits a little lowwer than stock...i got the idea reading an article on the porsche 917...about how they were all composite...and new technology...and then the car was all done, except they still needed a shift ****...so one of the "old school guys" went to his work bench and made a wooden one as kinda a protest to the super high tec new ways...and it stuck, and all of the 917s after that had wooden shift *****.

love the braaaap
Well, I kinda like my 8 ball or "rice" style shift *****. I switch them every so often. If I want the shifter to feel nice and smooth, make it easy to shift, I use the 8 ball. If I want a sporty kinda shift then I use the rice style one.

Okay, time to be CONstructive rather than DEstructive
How about you slice off a bit at the top, make it more like the old 'palm' ***** someone earlier mentioned? Makes it look less like an egg too

yeah actually i like the wood, it can look real good, i just don't care for the shape...at all
if you shaped it like the stock shifter **** that would be badass
or even more ergonomic, im sure you can come up with something

like the pistol grip on a hemi-cuda??...if you shift fast there is no reason why you need ergonomics...look at the shift ***** of real sports cars....its only import fakers that have those (ie neon SX 2.0)

sometimes i do shift fast, but most of the time im just cruising around, and i like to rest my hand on the **** sometimes, but most of all im interested in how clean it looks, not how flashy and "rice" it looks...come on man im not trashing your hard work, just saying its not me, it just needs something else....
but i don't belong posting in this thread cause i like the stock ****, have fun and enjoy them...Good work!
