Talking She´s mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally own a 7!

and I must say, a weird one

FB body, but labeled SA

No power windows or locks, but square power mirrors

No LSD but rear discs

Battery is almost dead, but it starts if you push it, so probably I will follow the "no start" thread.

She is in decent shape compared to other local examples

further help will be needed

Rotor wheels

I believe the '79 to '82 cars were Sa's and '83 to '85 were FB's. SA's had the tag between the lights.

FB was only in North America. The rest of the world kept the SA designation.

I'd say you've got the same spec as Australia.

Congrats bro!

Make sure you give me a ride when I come down this year. (June-July)

You might want to look into LPG. You now how expensive gasoline is down there.

I agree. Fold in power mirrors. I wish I had those...

Also note the extra turn signal on the fender.

One thing you might wanna try is jump starting it or borrow another battery from someone... That looks like you have a Volvo battery in there. Who knows how old it is or where it came from...

The previous owner coulda been someone like me... If a friend of mine pitches a totalled car, I go and rape it for everything I can reuse. Light bulbs, fuses, battery, belts, tires... Yes. Even the spare. If I have a compatible car lying around, I'll even go more in depth and take interior parts, engine ancillaries, etc...

Thumbs up

Congrats on your new ownership! I bet if you found any of those Rotary wheels in good shape that you wanted to sell, there would be a bunch of RX7 owners interested in buying them. I know I would!

There's a guy selling a set of 6 13x6.5 rotary wheels for $495 right now on ebay if anyone is interested. 4 hours to go at this moment. I searched under mazda rx 3, clicked on a 12a motor for $400(?), and went to his store to find them.

By the looks of things I would say that although it looks like a FB body it is not although very similar. The side turn signal lights would suggest SA not FB. An easy way to tell FB from SA would be the rear lights. The SA has small squarish lights where as the FB has rectangular lights. Disc in the rear could mean as simple as they opted for rear discs as one of their options...not necessarily suggesting FB.

Like Directfreak already mentioned in this thread, only North American cars received the FB vin number. Outside North America all 1st gen. Rx-7's are designated SA regardless of year model.
